   Key Laboratory of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT Lab.) was established with approval of Ministry of Education in August 2007, located in the Caijiaguan campus of Guizhou University. It integrates the advantageous resources of Guizhou Province Key Laboratory of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Information Productivity Promotion Center of Guizhou Province, CAD Application Engineering Technology Center of Guizhou Province, Department of Mechanical Engineering of Guizhou University and CAD / CIMS Engineering Research Center of Guizhou University.
    AMT Lab. is a directly affiliated research institute of Guizhou University, whose members consists of many prestigious academic precursors and mid-young aged researchers with excellent education backgrounds. Our interests mainly focused on manufacturing model and advanced manufacturing information systems, laser micro-processing and surface treatment technology, laser micro-processing and surface treatment technology, manufacturing technology and equipment, as well as other related aspects of high-level scientific research and personnel training.
    Professor Qingsheng Xie serves as the director of AMT Lab. and chief scientist of the State 863 Project advanced manufacturing and automation, Professor Jiaguang Sun (Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences) serves as the director of the academic committee. In recent years, more than 40 research projects of AMT Lab. were funded by the State 863 Project, the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Development and Reform Commission demonstration projects, the Ministry of Education, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. More than 20 projects were received National Invention Exhibition Gold Award, the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Achievement Award, Guizhou Province scientific and technological progress awards and other awards. Some of rewarded projects achieved the domestically leading level. Over 30 scientific research results were applied into practice, 4 of them gained obvious social and economic benefits by wide deployment.
    During the "9th and 10th Five-Year" periods, AMT Lab. implemented the informational reconstruction of local machinery industries, which includes providing technical supports and training for hundreds of enterprises and their employees, respectively. Also, AMT Lab. played important roles in the technique innovations of National Aerospace Corporation Guizhou Branch, China Jiangnan Aerospace Corporation, China Zhenhua Group and other leading enterprises in local manufacturing. Specifically, the “knowledge-based virtual prototype of the system design and development” , information-based manufacturing industry in "Guizhou 3010 project" and "Guiyang1050 project", and others are completed which made effective and positive contributions for the development of manufacturing enterprises located in Guizhou Provice, even China.
    In recent years, the provincial Department of the Ministry of Education to build a Advanced Manufacturing Technology key laboratory host a series of important academic exchange activities, including: "the Enterprise Information Advance Forum and the National 12th CAD / CG academic annual" in August 2002; National Network Advance Forum in December 2002 ; July 2003 the International Seminar on E-commerce Development Strategies; "Globalization Manufacturing Advance Forum and the 21st Century Simulation Tchnology Forum" in October 2004 ; "National Advanced Manufacturing Technology Forum, and Seminar on Automatized and Informationized of Manufacturing " in August 2005 and "the Manufacturing Development Strategy for the Western China Advance Forum and the 5th e-Engineering and e-Enterprise International Academic Conference" in August 2006. These activities strongly promote the scientific and technological progress and academic development.
    Closely analyzing the local demands of information development, AMT Lab. initiated and participated a series of strategic studies which contained "Guizhou ' 9th Five-Year' plan and implementation of CAD Application Engineering", " Guizhou '10th Five-Year ' plan for the Development of Manufacturing Information ", "Guiyang '10th Five-Year ' plan for the Enterprise Information Development", "Guiyang '10th Five-Year' plan for the Development of Manufacturing Information ", "Guiyang '11th Five-Year’ plan for the Development of Enterprise Information"," Guizhou '11th Five-Year’ plan for the Development of manufacturing information technology", and other a number of important plans.
    AMT Lab. is a training and development platform for high-level personnel, which actively cultivate different levels of technology professionals such as doctor and master for the enterprises and institutions, relying on post-doctoral workstations of mechanical engineering projects, machinery manufacturing and automation doctorate, master's degree in mechanical engineering disciplines and a provincial-level engineering technology Centre, the Productivity Center and closely integrating the needs of the economy and technique development in our province,. Moreover, according to the practical problems that encountered in the development of the enterprise, we developed special technical and specialized personnel training, transported many high-level personnel to the information technology and advanced manufacturing technology field of our province.
    AMT Lab. fully utilizes the comprehensive advantages in research, development and practice deployment to cooperate with enterprises figuring out some significant technical problems and gaining lots of results in technique innovation and techniques transformation by the way of combining production with research. Some projects not lead the domestic research, but made more contribution to the both economic and social benefits.

    CAS academician Youlun Xiong involoved the assessment of AMT Lab. as an initial project.
   The football team of AMT Lab. keep a friendly relationship with the team of Guiyang municipal government.
    AMT Lab. involved the development and maintenance of "intelligent meeting attendance system" for the 10th conference of Chinese Communist Party in Guizhou Province, which received full appraisal and recognition from province leaders.
